Standing With Our Children, Teachers, and Families in This Difficult Time

Together in Hope and Prayer

Alhaja Bolanle Iyadunni Yusuf Statement on School Abduction
A Message of Solidarity with Affected Children, Teachers and Families

The recent incident involving the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers has left many Nigerians deeply saddened and concerned. It is a painful reminder of the challenges facing our communities and the urgent need to safeguard those who represent the future of our nation.

As a mother, humanitarian, and advocate for community well-being, my thoughts and prayers are with the affected children, their teachers, and their families. No child should have to pursue education under the shadow of fear, and no parent should have to endure the uncertainty and anguish of not knowing whether their loved ones are safe.

During moments like these, compassion, unity, and collective responsibility become more important than ever. We stand in solidarity with the victims and their families, sharing in their pain while hoping for the safe return of those still affected. We also recognize the emotional and psychological impact such experiences leave behind and pray for healing, strength, and comfort for everyone involved.

The safety of our schools must remain a national priority. Education is the foundation upon which strong communities and prosperous nations are built. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn in an environment that is secure, supportive, and free from intimidation or violence.

As we reflect on this unfortunate situation, let it also serve as a call for greater collaboration among government institutions, community leaders, security agencies, organizations, and citizens. Protecting our children is a shared responsibility that requires commitment, vigilance, and sustained action.

Beyond the headlines and statistics are real families facing unimaginable pain and uncertainty. It is my sincere hope that those affected will find strength, support, and comfort during this difficult period, and that every child and teacher involved will be safely reunited with their loved ones.

May peace, hope, and safety prevail for every child, every family, and every community affected by this tragedy.
